Haleigh Joyner 3-5, 3RBIs in Garner 10-8 win at M.Creek. Sam Weidner 1-1 with 2RBI & Sam Armstrong, Mikayla Brumbles and Kari Sutton two hits and RBI each for the Lady Trojans (5-0). Coach Barbour's Trojans pound out 16 hits in the conference win

Varsity soccer beat Wake Forest 3-2. Anna Grossheim had 2 goals and Kasey Adams had 1. Cassidy Wilson gets the win goal with a stellar performance for Garner (3-0-1)

Varsity baseball falls at M.Creek 9-8 while JV Trojans improve to 7-0 with 4-3 win over the Mustangs

Trojans stay unbeaten in slugfest with Cleveland

#4 ranked Garner pounds out 11 hits to down Cleveland 11-10 to stay unbeaten 6-0. The Trojans get two hits, two RBI each from Xavier Bussey and Tyler Gillespy in the offense shoot-out. Gillespy records double, triple, Malik Stephens 2 hits, RBI triple, Nolan McLean 2-2 at the plate with 3 runs scored. Garrett Capaforte 2 hits. Varsity travels to M.Creek for 6PM matchup, JV host the Mustangs 4:30PM at home.

JV Trojans also stay unbeaten 10-3 win at Cleveland. Will Lee bangs out 3 hits, triple & scoring 3 times for Garner (6-0). Rafeal Morero has 2-RBI double & Harrison Garner two hits, triple, 2RBI. Two hits each for Kaden Brown, & Michael Hamling who adds RBI. Bryson Galloway and Josh Grimmett each record RBI. 

Lady Trojans down Cleveland
Sam Armstrong 2-run homer, double, 4 RBI, Haleigh Joyner 3-4, 3RBI leads Lady Trojan softball to 9-8 win over Cleveland to stay unbeaten 4-0. They travel to M.Creek Friday night for 6PM contest.

Trojan Golf claims SWAC home match at River Ridge 
Trojan golf takes their SWAC conference match with a 156 total. Daniel Barbare 36, Colby Jackson, Chris O'Neill and Aidan Harrington each post 40 for Coach Chuck Proffitt. Nate Thompson 43 Nathan Reyes 46 at River Ridge. The 3rd match win for Garner this season.

Lady Trojan lacrosse captures their first win
Women’s lacrosse made history tonight capturing their first win against Fuquay Varina 13 – 1. Goals by Olivia Verlinden, Katelyn Carpenter, Jenna Tripp, Sophie Hanson, Lydia Mooney, Kaylah Jones, Jacquelyn Gile, Nadia Richardson, and Caroline Bridges.

Tennis edges Fuquay 5-4. Wrenn Dawson, John Faison, & Tyler Reyes take singles wins & Dawson-Reyes and John Yokley-Colton Wood take their doubles matches for the SWAC win.

Lady Trojan soccer knots Clayton 3-3 in non-conference play. Kasey Adams, Morgan Thomas and Sydney Tucker Garner (2-0-1) goal scorers.

Stephens, Lewis, Bellamy, Thompson announce commitments

Senior All-SWAC receiver Justin Lewis commits to Methodist football for 2018. Lewis led Coach Thurman Leach conference champions in receiving with 886 yards and scored 6TDs. He completes his Garner career with second most receiving yards 1,319 and catches (75). Lewis joins fellow Trojan alum Roderic Christian ('17) on the Monarchs. 

Senior Malik Stephens commits to Catawba Valley baseball. Stephens hit .357 with 18RBI for Coach Goffena GNRC Champions last season, recording 12-of-13 stolen bases & anchored Trojan outfield w/ .989 fielding with 8 assists. The two-sport star played cornerback for Coach Thurman Leach SWAC Champion football squad, recording 5 interceptions, 53 tackles and sack. 

Trojan senior Prestige Bellamy has committed to Florida Tech football. Bellamy rushed for 294 yards, scoring 3 TDs and recording 29 tackles on defense for the SWAC Champions. The two-sport star is an elite sprinter for Trojan track as well. 

Senior All-SWAC star Na'Darius Thompson joins Averett University football. Thompson led Coach Thurman Leach's conference champs with 105 tackles & 27.5 tackles for loss. Thompson recorded 10 sacks with 3 fumble recoveries for the vaunted Trojan defense. Congratulations Mr. Thompson!

Nunley claims National titles; Ross, Terry advance at New Balance Nationals

 Freshman Alex Nunley captures the 60m, 60m hurdles, 200m & 400m 15-16 year old titles at the 2018 AAU Indoor T&F Youth National Championship. Nunley, who captured the same 4 events last year, is 7-time National Champ this year after winning the 100m, 100m hurdles & 200m hurdles at 2017 USATF Junior Olympics in Lawrence KS

Indoor State Champions RJ Terry and Randolph Ross compete in the New Balance Nationals in New York. Ross records 6-10.75 high jump good for 4th in the nation (and new school record, upping the 6 ft-10in record he set at 2018 NCHSAA 4A Indoor Championship & shared with Daryl Saunders, 2011.) Ross runs 48.44 in 400m to qualify for the New Balance Nationals Championship finals where he sets new school record with 48.36. Ross ran 22.72 in the Emerging Elite 200m. Terry runs 6.93 to advance to the Championship 60m semifinals.

Lady Trojans take win at The Brittany Soccer Showcase

Lady Trojan soccer wins 4-3 over Hunt at The Brittany Showcase in Wilson. Sydney Tucker, Anna Grossheim, Kasey Adams, and Riley Frechette record goals. Assists by Grossheim, Tucker, Addi Mikulecky, and Morgan Thomas. Goalie Cassidy Wilson earns Sportsmanship Award for Coach Proper's 2-0 Trojans.

Softball wins 8-3 at previously unbeaten W.Johnston (varsity only) for their 3rd win without a loss to open the season. Coach Barbour's Lady Trojans host Cleveland Monday 4PM

JV Baseball stays unbeaten with 10-0 win at W.Johnston for their 5th win. Rafael Morero goes 3-3 with 2RBI, Zach Roddenberry 2-2 with 3RBI & Bryson Galloway 3-4 for Garner (5-0). Addison Norris throws complete game 2-hitter with 7Ks. Walker Burdick, Kaden Brown & Jake Good add an RBI each. Norris improves to 2-0 with 0.58 ERA. They head to Cleveland Monday 4PM for non-conference matchup.

Colby Jackson earns medalist with a 34 in Trojan golf win over Clayton and Panther Creek. Garner second win of the season with a 149. Daniel Barbare 36, Aidan Harrington 39, Nathan Reyes & Chris O’Neill 40 each

Trojan baseball takes two at Wakefield, Varsity wins 4-3 in 9 innings & JV 3-1. Both teams 4-0 this season headed to DH at W.Johnston Saturday beginning at noon

Lacrosse gets 4 goals from Conner Kocher who adds two assists and Cameron Hollingsworth scores twice with an assist vs Corinths Holder. A goal each for Lucas Carter and Isaiah Anderson for the Trojans. No JV score reported.
